Pair with Bridgit Portal
Someone sent you a Bridgit Portal pairing link, or wants to show you a pairing code. Here's how to get the app and use it. You'll see that phone's Home, network devices, activity, agents and applets, read-only: the portal can't take photos, record, tap or change settings.
1. Get the app on iPhone or iPad
Bridgit Portal for iPhone and iPad is in beta, through Apple's TestFlight.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store.
- Ask for a beta invite: email support@bridgit.cc with the email address of your Apple Account. If the phone's owner gave you a TestFlight invite link, use that instead.
- Open the invite on your iPhone or iPad, tap Accept, then Install in TestFlight.
1. Or use an Android phone
Any Android phone with Bridgit can view another Bridgit phone. Download Bridgit (Android 10 or later) and open it once.
2. Pair
The pairing link and code come from the phone you want to see. Its owner opens Bridgit › More › Bridgit Portal (iPhone & iPad) and taps Pair an iPhone or iPad. That shows a QR code, plus Copy link and Share.
With the QR code (you're next to the phone)
- iPhone or iPad: open Bridgit Portal, tap Pair with a phone's key and point the camera at the code.
- Android: open Bridgit › More › Bridgit Portal, tap Add a phone and point the camera at the code.
With a link (sent by message or email)
The link starts with bridgitportal://pair. Most messaging apps don't make it tappable, so copy it instead:
- iPhone or iPad: copy the whole link, open Bridgit Portal and tap Paste a sign-in or pairing link, then Paste from clipboard and Use it. If you've already signed in, find pairing under More.
- Android: copy the link, open Bridgit › More › Bridgit Portal › Add a phone, paste it and tap Use this link.
Keep the link private
The owner's phone shows each pairing link only once, when it's made. Whoever has it can see that phone until the owner taps Disconnect on More › Bridgit Portal. Don't post it anywhere public. If it leaks, ask the owner to disconnect it and pair again.
Trouble pairing?
Check that the phone being viewed is on and online, and that its owner hasn't disconnected you. If the link still doesn't work, ask the owner for a new one: each tap on Pair makes a fresh link. Still stuck? See support.
